When you think of a smart fitness assistant, many of us think of a smart bracelet or watch that is with us during exercise. But at the same time, we also need something that has an overview of our health, even if we are not playing sports. A smart scale can be one such helper. And that's exactly what the Tesla Smart Composition Scale Wi-Fi is.

At first glance, this device is indistinguishable from a regular scale. In the home, it is masked with a neutral white color, the glass surface is more stylish and pleasant (albeit colder for the feet) than with ordinary plastic devices. You can also notice four circular elements in which sensors and electrodes measuring a total of 13 health data are hidden. But we'll get to that later.

There isn't a single physical button on the body of the scale, at least not one that you can easily find. The scale does everything by itself - it recognizes that you have stepped on it, turns on automatically and immediately displays your weight. It can measure in the range of 5 - 180 kilograms with an accuracy of tenths of a kilogram. If you only want to use it for that purpose, then that's pretty much all you need to know. However, it would be a shame not to use it to its full potential.

Underneath the scale, where there are still non-slip rubberized feet, you will find a place for four AAA batteries (not included in the package). They also have a small, very inconspicuous button, which you can hold down to switch the scale to Wi-Fi signal reception mode. This will unlock the possibility of connecting it to a smartphone (both Android and iOS) and learn much more about yourself.

Pairing the scale with the smartphone seems to be relatively simple, although it may take the second or third attempt. Don't give up. With the scale, you only need to activate the pairing mode by holding down that button for a long time, and the rest takes place on your phone. Also, don't forget that the smart scale only works with a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. Once connected, you can start exploring the data collected in the Tesla Smart app .

Take control of your smart home with a simple app. Just download the app, add individual TESLA products and set their behaviour. Anyone can do it. In addition, the app is fully localised in many languages, including English.

More about app

First of all, the app tracks your weight change every time you get weighed. However, it is necessary to remember that the last step on the scale must be confirmed in the application in order to record the correct data. In this way, you prevent the data from being distorted, for example by someone else stepping on the scale or activating it by mistake.

The scale will then tell you how much your weight has changed since the last measurement. This in itself is quite a good helper if you forget such things quickly or if you don't want to remember to write down the given value every time. The Tesla Smart Composition Scale Wi-Fi does it for you.

You will also see the development of your weight in a clear graph, but this is not the only value that can be monitored here, including the development over time. In the application, you will also see the Body Mass Index (BMI), fat-free weight, percentage of body fat, percentage of water in the body, weight of your muscles, basal metabolism (in kcal), level of visceral fat, protein and also bone volume (in kilograms).

Based on this data, the application then calculates your body type and physical age. This may differ from your real one, which you enter together with the initial settings of your profile in the application (along with other data such as gender or height). Finally, you can also choose units in the app and allow it to access data from Google Fit and Fitbit services.

In any case, the Tesla Smart Composition Scale Wi-Fi has a wide range of uses and is suitable for both undemanding users who just want to monitor the development of their weight, as well as for athletes who also care about real details, such as muscle weight or body fat ratio. Of course, it can also be used as an ordinary scale without a mobile application.
